Dispersal order in Welwyn Garden City |
||
|
A dispersal order has been put in place in Welwyn Garden City, as part of Hertfordshire Constabulary’s efforts to deter anti-social behaviour linked to Halloween and to keep the local area a safe place. The Section 35 order will be in place until 11.59pm this evening (Friday 31 October). Under the order, officers can direct anyone to leave the specified area shown in the map immediately. Failing to do so is a criminal offence and could result in an arrest. Anyone aged under 16 can be taken home to parents/guardians. The dispersal order has been put in place to help protect members of the public by deterring those who use Halloween as an excuse to commit crime and disorder. Additional officers will also be out and about, conducting proactive patrols. If you have any concerns, please don’t hesitate to approach them. If you witness any criminal activity, call 999 straightaway.
